Oh my goodness! I can't believe it.
Jack is so cute these days...I love this age. Like Ben said a few days ago we are really starting to see his personality.
Jack weighs 22 pounds and is a bundle of energy. He moves so fast, you definitely have to keep your eye on him. That is why we finally got a gate for the bottom of the stairs. Climbing the stairs is one of his favorite things to do before bath time. This is actually nice because it lets out the last bit of energy he has. Watch Jack climb the stairs:
My dad also helped us put in plexiglass to make our banister more safe. One time Jack crawled over to it with one of his toys and banged the toy against the bars just like you'd see a prisoner do in the movies.
Jack is a great eater. We have gotten him down to one bottle a day, that is at night as part of his bedtime routine and it is only about 2.5 oz. The rest of the time he drinks his milk from a sippy cup and eats real people food. He LOVES blueberries and watermelon right now. He also likes banana's, taco meat, chicken, cheese, peas, carrots, blueberry multi grain waffles, goldfish, peaches, fish, meatballs with spinach in them, black beans, and of course all of the gerber toddler snacks.
Jack still enjoys his race car toy (good thing because this is the theme for his birthday party)...I have a few friends who can't stand toys that make noise. One of their arguments is that it takes away from the kids using their own imagination. But as you can see in this video, Jack is learning so much by trial and error. You can see on his face as he tries to put lots of different objects, sizes and shapes, in the spinner. Here is a video from early April.
But his favorite toy these days is his ball machine...he plays with this every morning while I am getting ready. It also serves as one of Ben's alarm since it is quite loud and only has one volume setting. He also knows where to find it if he can't locate it in the living room. He loves to take the balls out of the machine and throw them on the wood floor as well. This is another favorite thing Jack has learned to do this month.

Jack got his first pair of Stride Rite shoes which all the moms say are the best for babies starting to walk. Ben couldn't believe how much these shoes cost. These are some pictures of Jack in his new sandals standing. This was early on in his 11th month.
Jack met his first horse! We went to visit Nanny and Papa and Papa took him to see the horse that lives in the pasture behind his house. I think I was more afraid of the horse than Jack. I've never quite gotten over the horse stepping on my foot.

5:45ish- Dinner and 4 oz of milk in a sippy cup
7:15 bath and bedtime routine with 2.5 oz of milk in a bottle
