We decided to take a quick trip up to Wichita, Kansas with my mom (Mimi). This was Jack's first long trip in the car. The longest he has been in the car was a two hour trip. So, I had learned from other moms that you have to have a bag of toys (new toys or toys he hadn't played with in a while) to keep him occupied. I thought he did well, and when he WAS fussy I just ignored it. My mom on the other hand reverted back to her days with me as an infant. I was a colic baby and later they learned I got car sick so of course I was not a happy camper in the car. Needless to say my mom couldn't really handle him fussing. So she did a great job of entertaining him.

| maybe that's why he looks confused |
After driving about 2.5 hours, we stopped at a Burger King to stretch our legs. Jack loved the playground and luckily there weren't any kids who wanted to play. So my mom got in there with him as he crawled around. I was so glad that he was able to do that for about 30 minutes.

| Looking at me, wondering if I am going to let him keep exploring |
Jack slept in the laundry room. It was actually great. I had a place to put his humidifier, ipod docker, and it was pitch black! I thought this was so funny because my brother and I growing up would always sleep in the closet or in a nook at my grandparents house (between the stairs and the wall, Thanksgiving ice storm in the 90's) at family functions.
 |
| This was how I found him when I went to get him in the morning. |
 |
| Looked at me then turned right back around to play with his toy. |
 |
| He's pretty determined to stand being in his sleep sack and all. |
One of the things we did was take a long walk around the park. We also stopped and played on the playground. But here are a few pictures of Jack feeding the geese.
We also went to about 5 kids resale shops. They were awesome. I got so many play clothes for Jack for now and the fall. To take a break from all of the shopping, we stopped by a water fountain park. Jack loved it! This was the first time (since his experience in his own pool which didn't go very well) that Jack interacted with water. And I found out that he loved to get splashed and sprayed with it.

| If he could walk he would have run right into all of the water sprayers. |
 |
| This is his excited face..obviously mommy is not as excited about getting wet! |
 |
| Yay! Shouts of joy. |
 |
| Mimi's turn! |

| Crazy face! |
One of the nights we went to a festival the city was having. They have a parade to kick it off and then serve the whole city free ice cream!

 |
| This is his "I know when I put this block in the bucket, it is going to make a loud sound, so I am bracing for it" |

| Eating ice cream...enjoyed it, you can see a little white on the top of his lip |

| More please! |
We had a great time in Kansas and can't wait to go back!
